The Borneo Bird Festival celebrates the feathered beauties of Borneo, creating public awareness in conservation efforts while promoting birdwatching and eco-tourism activities. A total of 688 resident and migratory bird species have been recorded in Borneo, 60 of which are endemic such as the Bornean Bristlehead, Bornean Falconet and Black-crowned pitta. Among the highlights of the activities are the Bird Race - a team of three to spot, identify and record as many bird species as possible in 24 hours at a designated location. Guided birding walk, bird talks, photography contests, workshops, booth exhibitions, various children's activities, and a youth camp are some of the highlights of this festival. Above all, it is a camaraderie of fellow birders and nature photographers!
